Panoramic Environmental Portraits
When you want to capture that special person in a dramatic environmental setting, then it deserves a panoramic portrait. Typically if we want to capture a subject in a bigger environmental setting we would use a wide angle lens to capture the desired field of view. The wide angle lens changes the perspective and the subject now looks far away. The solution to this is a technique commonly referred to as the "Brenizer Method." The technique is named after the wedding photographer who popularized the technique. Basically it involves using a longer focal length lens and taking multiple shots of the scene to capture the entire scene. This is similar to how one would capture a panorama. All the images are then stitched together to make the composite image. The subject now stays in a normal perspective with the environmental scene and the results are striking.

Some of my favorite locations for this type of shooting are: Celebration Park and Dedication Point
